We very warmly welcome you to our corner of the Internet! We believe you’ll find a lot of useful things here to help you plan new adventures! From this side Natalia and Tom – known as @adventures.after.work.
We’ve been running the profile since March 2023 – then, before our first trip to Patagonia, we decided that we wanted to have our own little place on Instagram, where we would share with friends and family what we were up to on our trip. We never thought that there would gather so many people with a similar passion to us. For every such person, we are immensely grateful!
In addition to Instagram, we also run:

- blog, which you are reading right now, and where you can read our reports in a slightly longer form, purchase guides, consultations with us or posters 🙂
- TikToka – this channel least regularly, but maybe in the future it will change. As time permits!
We both love wild destinations, where you can commune with nature and mountains
We like to stay active, get up for sunrise, explore from morning to night, sleep in a tent and explore new places. That’s why our favorite destinations include Patagonia or New Zealand!
We hope there is something for everyone on this blog! Because that’s what this blog is about travel! Do you like paradise beaches, sunshine and warmth? Welcome to Hawaii and French Polynesia! Or maybe you prefer the most distant destinations such as Chile, Argentina or Australia? No problem! For fans of metropolitan cities, we recommend Tokyo in Japan, Miami in Florida or Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
Still can’t see anything for yourself? Then why not be tempted by the U.S. West Coast, which is a combination of the beauty and serenity of nature with the hustle and bustle of cities? Can’t make up your mind? You don’t have to limit yourself – welcome to a trip around the world! We have been on such a trip twice, and we have many more beautiful destinations planned!
And where does the money for all this come from?
We’ve gotten this question several times before, but the answer is perhaps disappointing to some people – from work 🙂 😇
On a daily basis, we both work in IT as database professionals. We design and implement database architecture in the cloud. Natalia works in a large multinational corporation, and Tomek works in a small startup. Don’t be surprised if you see a picture of Tom reading a Python book on vacation. Work is a great passion for him! Maybe that’s why he is in his field, so good? If you are looking for a mentor in SQL or Azure cloud or GCP, go ahead and write to us! We will help you with that as well!
Tom
He is an extrovert, loving cats and spontaneity. He is an oasis of calm and will respond to all problems with “at ease, we can handle it!”. He loves to spend time with friends outside the house, is always smiling and people love him! Seriously, I don’t know a person who doesn’t like Tom! Lately he has been having problems with his knees (he has already undergone 2 surgeries for meniscus and ACL stitches), which somewhat prevents him from doing the kind of trekking he dreams of. We hope that regular rehabilitation and training with a physiotherapist will alleviate this problem, as there are still a lot of trails to go and marathons to run! In our travels, Tomek takes care of finances, buying airline tickets, booking and driving a car or piloting a drone.
Natalia
She is a bit more quiet than Tom, although running this profile has opened her up a lot. She loves dogs and planning ahead. He likes to have everything arranged, so he often writes out all sorts of plans for himself – whether for a six-month trip or a weekend. She’s amazingly good at making gifts – she listens all year long to see what someone is dreaming of and then makes those ideas come true! She loves sports – for 13 years she trained professionally in athletics (sprinting) and represented our country in international competitions. To this day, he still regularly runs and goes to the gym. He also likes good food after training. Her showpiece dessert is tiramisu, which Tom could eat every day. He adheres to the principle that it may be cold, but there must be plenty of sunshine, as he clearly runs on solar batteries. On the profile, she is responsible for writing all texts, inserting posts, editing videos and planning trips and attractions.
George
That is, the beagle dog you will see on our profile. Unfortunately, he rarely travels with us, but sometimes we show him while at home. George is extremely friendly, he loves people and scratching behind the ears. In our travels, responsible for making sure that Natalia’s mother does not wither away from us with longing 😉
